The Honorable Gary Locke
US Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China

Dear sir:

I am a writer/poet of Chinese descent, an American citizen living in the United States. I am the president of the nonprofit, charitable organization The Chrysanthemum Literary Society located in Seattle.

It is my understanding that Fort Hays State University in Kansas, USA has an academic exchange program with Chinese universities in China.

I have been a student at Fort Hays State University and found that their English Program for literature is outstanding and China can benefit greatly from their literary understanding of not only American but Western culture. In particular, I found the following two individuals to be the most enlightened about the world situation through the lens of literature.

Sharla Hutchison and Michael F. Meade have been my instructors.  I would recommend that the People’s Republic of China would expand on its English and literature programs with Fort Hays State University under the guidance of Professors Sharla Hutchison and Michael F. Meade.

The address of Fort Hays State University is:    Fort Hays State University

                                                                                    Hays, Kansas 67601
                                                                                  USA

My sincere thanks,

Koon Woon
